| Alex Retzlaff Alex is the founder of CrossFit Roughnecks and has been involved in fitness and sports for most of his life. He first began training in gymnastics as a child, then moved into Cross Country, Track, and Pole Vault in High School. After High School, he began weight training and martial arts which opened his eyes to a whole new way of living. After several years of working out, he began personal training with friends, family, and co-workers that included nutritional plans and workout routines to optimize fitness. Alex has also been training and teaching Martial Arts and Self-Defense for over 10 years. Eventually stumbling upon CrossFit in 2010, he realized that this was what he had been trying to recreate for himself and clients all these years. Alex holds a Level 1 and Olympic Lifting certification in CrossFit. He is also a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Won Hop Loong Chuan and a 4th Degree in Pyong Hwa Do. Lauren Attermeier Lauren found Crossfit after becoming frustrated with the monotony and impersonal atmosphere of standard Globogyms. After starting in September of 2010, she was instantly hooked. The competitive spirit and the community Crossfit provides gave her exactly what she was missing at her old gym. Lauren has been a lifetime athlete, playing volleyball in high school and working for the Athletic Department in college as a referee. She earned her Level 1 Certification in June of 2011 and is passionate about helping people lead healthier lifestyles while striving for elite fitness through the use of Crossfit. |
